At 07:00, you will depart from Marrakech to embark on an exciting journey to the southern part of Morocco. Your first stop will be at Ait Berka, a Berber village located at 1460m. Here, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views. Afterwards, you will proceed to the second village, Ait Ben Amer, located at 1550m. From there, you will continue your journey and climb up to an altitude of 2060m to reach the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the second-highest peak of the High Atlas Mountains, standing at 2260m. Finally, on your way to the south, you will go to Ksar Ait Benhaddou, the most interesting historical monument.
Ait Benhaddou is a Ksar, or palace, located in Morocco. In the 18th century, a man named Bacha El Glaoui was responsible for the people living in the southern region of Morocco, nicknamed «The Road of Thousand Kasbahs.” Ait Benhaddou is one of the many Kasbahs that were once used as a stop for caravan travellers under the authority of Bacha El Glaoui.
During this period, Kasbahs in this area were used as filming locations for famous movies, including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, the Mummy, Alexander the Great, and others.
You will spend two hours in the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one hour to visit the Kasbah and another hour for lunch. Afterwards, you will head to Ouarzazate, also known as Moroccan Hollywood, famous for its international cinema studios. You will explore the Kasbah of Taourirt and visit the Museum of International Cinema in the heart of the old Medina.
