Itinerary :

Our day will begin with a departure from Marrakech at 08:30, and we will embark on a beautiful and scenic hike towards Tizi n’Tamatert (2272m), situated east of Marrakech. Our journey will take us through vast wheat fields and orchards, where we will be surrounded by beautiful walnut, apple, and cherry trees.

As we approach the village of Tamatert (1810m), we will traverse a path that climbs through pine and juniper woods. The surrounding valley is breathtaking, and we will have the opportunity to stop at Tizi, where we will be treated to stunning views of the Imlil and Imenane valleys. The Imenane valley is home to many Berber-terraced villages hidden on the slopes around us. The Adrar n’Oukaimeden (3268 m), which is almost as high as the Rockies, will also be visible on the southern horizon. Additionally, we can see the high peaks of Tizi n’Eddi (2928 m) and Jbel Angour (3616 m) looming in the distance.

We will continue our hike along the slopes of the Tamatert Valley, and we will eventually reach a field picnic spot at Amghedoul. The Toubkal massif surrounds this spot and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. We will take a break here to refresh ourselves before continuing our hike towards Douar Samra, the oldest Berber village in this once-isolated region.

As we pass through Ouaneskra and the other side of the valley, we can glimpse the beautiful villages of Tamegguist and Tinghourine. We will also see the imposing Jbel Bou Iguenouane (3882m), Tizi n’Likemt (3615m), Aksoual (3842m), and Azrou n’Tamadot (3664m) before returning to our accommodation in Marrakech.
